We are a family-friendly, welcoming Unitarian Universalist congregation located in the heart of Portland, Maine. Our vibrant and inclusive community of about 300 adults and 100 children and teens gathers each week in a beautiful building steeped in Maine history. As a recognized Welcoming Congregation, we invite people of all genders, races, abilities, sexual orientation, beliefs, backgrounds, and life experiences to join our community. Our mission is simple and inspires all that we do: Nurture the spirit; Grow in community; Help heal the world.
A good way to get to know us and our liberal faith community is to join us for Sunday worship. In fact, we encourage coming a few times as no two services are alike. Services are at 10AM every Sunday. Services address elements of life, humanity and spirituality, and draw on a variety of religious and spiritual practices from across the globe and history. Through music, readings, poetry, prayer, meditation, ritual, and sermon, we strive to provide a rich and full spiritual experience.
We are committed to being welcoming and accessible for all who would like to join us. We offer childcare for young children as well as Faith Formation classes for school-aged children, though children are always welcome to stay for the entire service. We have assistive listening devices, large print hymnals and Orders of Service, and are wheelchair accessible via a new elevator at the back of the Parish House. If you need an accommodation to attend Sunday service or participate in our church community, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We hope you’ll find a spiritual home full of love, tolerance, and justice here.
We look forward to meeting you!
